How To Show Drop Caps Automatically in Thesis Theme

If you follow the guide mentioned in the Thesis website, you need to manually wrap the letter you want to turn into a drop cap with the appropriate HTML. In the writing mode, you have to switch to HTML editor by clicking on the “HTML” link in the upper right corner of your Posting area to implement this tutorial.

As usual, I forgot adding this code and the first letter could not be turned into drop cap as expected. I had to edit the post and re-insert the code. This process took some times. That is why I tried to find the way to do this automatically and luckily I got this tutorial from one of my friend – HuTruc.

Drop Cap as guided by DIYThemes

This tutorial is very simple and you only need to add a short css code to your custom.css and the first letter of the old posts and new posts will be then automatically turned into drop cap. Here is the code:

If you are good at CSS, you can change something in the CSS code to make it unique to your blog style.

I have just implemented this code into my blog and all posts have first letters converted into drop. You can check any of my blog posts to see how it works.
