Site Speed has become an important factor that determine your blog ranking in Google SERPs. This has been officially announced on Google Webmaster Tool and you can now track how fast your blog load within the webmaster account – site performance. So, you have more things to do in order to boost your ranking with Google Search.
eBlogTip dot Com has been running slowly recently in terms of javascript, advertisements, image…and I am very surprised that my site speed record by Google sometimes is over 20s while Google suggested that your site performance should ideally be below 5s. The faster blog load the faster Googlebot crawl your blog.
If you blog site is more than 10s loading time, it is not good for SEO and I am pretty sure that you will loose a lot of traffic from Google. I have been aware of this and now I found out the way to optimize my blog with MaxCDN and my blog loading time is now around 3-4s!
If you do not believe that, you can track through http://tools.pingdom.com or Yslow with FireBug extensions if you are using FireFox.
How did I do that?
Well, I have missed a great tool developed by Mashable CTO – W3 Total Cache with support from CDN service. My blog is not fully optimized and load very fast. You can check it yourself!
MaxCDN is a geat content delivery network where you can utilize their servers located in different areas around the world. Whenever a visitor come to your blog, a cached version of your blog which is located closest to their location will be served to save time. That is a great service and all big sites like TechCrunch or Mashable is now doing that way. Mashable is also using MaxCDN which I have just used for a week.
MaxCDN is usually not affordable to small bloggers like me, it normally cost you $99 per 1,000GB bandwidth. However, you can get 1,000GB bandwidth for just $10 now. It is time limited promotion!
For this blog, I calculated that 1,000GB in my account ($10) will last for about 2-3 years. That is worth investing to get more visitors to your blog and improve your rankings.
The promotion is time limited and I do not really know when it is closed. There is no deadline but It can be closed anytime now.
Now, when you visit my blog, you will see a subdomain: http://cdn.eblogtip.com where mirror version of my blog was saved on different servers around the world. All type of files will be saved too. That is why my blog loading time is now super fast!
I hope my little experience will help you guys improve your blog loading time. You can refer to MaxCDN and W3 Total Cache to do this.

Hi Tinh, I wonder how much time we are able to use 1,000GB, either for one year or when its bandwidth gone out? I assume the first, then it will be a great deal! :yeah:
It is a great deal in deed. You can use it until it is finished!
Could you explain more to people ( with images ) of how to you configuration between MaxCDN and W3 Total to working well. I have try many time but there are some errors I cannot fix it.

@ Tin : How many blog (domain) can input use CDN in one account? :wat:
You can use for as many domains as you have. The only thing you need to care is allocated bandwidth for one account is max 1,000GB/$10
Next purchase for 1,000 GB is $99.
( So much money
1,000GB for your blog or my blog here will be for about 3 years time. No worries, there will be another promo during the time :yeah:

Any hosting provider can not ensure your blog loading fast in all locations, if you are using cloud hosting, it can help you resolve this but price is not affordable, it is about $50/month :yeah:
Hey Tinh
this is something very new to me. I have checked mashable source code and was aware of W3 super cache but was not aware or CDN technology. Just forwarded this one to my tech team to study this and might be implementing on my blogs as well…
Thanks for sharing this.. Your articles are detailed and very useful…

You are wrong! Mashable is using CDN technology, you can follow this link and see the table on the right: http://tools.pingdom.com/?url=mashable.com&treeview=0&column=objectID&order=1&type=0&save=true
If you are still now sure, please browse this address: http://cdn.mashable.com/ it is another mirror of Mashable :yeah:
Mashable loading time is higher than my blog
Im saying its using both the combo of W3 cache and this CDN tech
Just checked their Source code again to confirm and it says :
“<!– This site's performance optimized by W3 Total Cache. Dramatically improve the speed and reliability of your blog!"
.-= Harsh Agrawal´s last blog ..Shoutmeloud, Devils’ Workshop: Bridging Gaps Between Technology and Blogging =-.
I am not good at technology but if cdn.mashable.com point to their homepage, that means it is using CDN technology and it is for sure highly optimized for speed!
Tinh I’m not saying you are wrong. They are using combo of both…

I think you should use this, your blog loading time is quite high, it is about 9s by PingDom while Mashable is about 4.8s. Thanks for dropping by @Harsh :thanx:
Ahh…Yah I know… I might give it a shot… I also have to use Image sprites and optimize my CSS… hell lots of work… Though Im planning to move to Ngnix from apache servers.. Im sure this will create a diff of atleast 30% from now on..
.-= Harsh Agrawal´s last blog ..How to Make Money from Your Blog Without Using Advertisements =-.
I heard from my friend that Ngnix is superfast but it is not easy for newbie like me to config it. Hope to see that installed on your blog soon :yeah:
It’s already live on one of my blog network (rtblogs.com) and its working great.. I might say its digg proof though not that lucky yet to try it.. but will surely give you a shout when I will move my current blog also and will see the exact difference….
The above blog network tech part is being handled by my tech team.. So at this point I can’t give the exact difference..but from the graph and load time I have seen its a notable difference…

Just for your reference. As this is promotional period and its price is quite affordable, the normal price is 10 times higher than this $10 :$$$:
Hahaha,
Just get this and testing. we can add many domains if we want. The Balance Remaining1,000GB is not for one year.Use until left 0 GB ( as i understood).
You are right! $10 for just first 1,000GB and you can use for many domains until it is finished :thanx:
That’s an interesting offer but do I really need it since my page loading time is 7.5 seconds according to pingdom without using CDN network..
.-= Typhoon´s last blog ..My 3 Killer Methods To Build Massive Backlinks =-.
I am sure that you can reduce to 3s by using MaxCDN or any other CDN services on the internet :yeah:
I’m defintely not a fan of having load speed as a ranking factor. I enjoy websites that look good. Websites should look good. Having a few extra graphics and features on the homepage is slowing my time down and now I have to redesign a few! Some of my pages are near 15 seconds. Ga!
You should consider this as it is now a factor to determine your ranking in Google search. If your loading time is more than 15s, your page can likely be skipped with googlebot and that is not good in terms of SEO :nooo: . Hope to see your new design soon :yeah:
$10 for 1000GB sounds like a decent price.
I noticed that your blog is quite faster now. But I wonder how it may affect your blog from SEO point of view (due to the mirror hosting and cdn sub-domain). Any idea?
.-= TechChunks´s last blog ..5 Questions Business Owners Should Ask When Picking An Online Backup Provider =-.
Yes, according to pingdom and firebug & yslow metrics, my blog now loads much faster and my traffic is increasing too. That is good for investment and 1,000GB can be used for about 3 years for medium & small blogs.
Actually 1000GB is a great size and the price accordingly is pretty affordable. I can use 1000 GB for over 5 years if I get the same traffic.

Hi Tinh, can you explain more to me how to use maxcnd? Your site has 2 domain are eblogtip.com and cdn.eblogtip.com. This is making too much urls for SEO and your site will be duplicated content? And if your guest feel too slowly for loading, they can access via cdn.eblogtip.com for faster or what?
I will try to write a detailed review on this with image. No, my blog has only one domain eblogtip.com the cdn.eblogtip.com is mirror of eblogtip.com that cached my contents and saved on different servers within MaxCDN network and when a visitor come from USA the cached version in USA will be served to save loading time. Google will never crawl this mirror then no worries about duplicate content.
No, you can access by eblogtip.com, the cdn.eblogtip.com is a mirror only and when you click on curtain link or post, it will be the main domain’s url, not mirror’s.
You can access cdn.eblogtip.com but it is only for homepage.
I hope my answer is clear and wait for my reviews on this :thanx:
I have seen some website that using many CDN on one website. Such as cdn1.domain.com, cdn2.domain.com … How could they do that ? Or they implement with manual code, not using plugin ?
.-= Reviews Networks´s last blog ..What traffic is good for affiliate network =-.
It is easy, you can create as many subdomain as you can, it can serve for different purposes man :yeah:
@ Tinh : i still confuse about CDN
All your file image, JS, CSS storage at cdn.eblogtip.com
My question, may be same with @whisky
Are you moving all file to MaxCDN?
if we want to post, are you uploading image to MaxCDN or this only cached by MaxCDN but the file and image still uploading in hostgator?
Thanks :thanx:
THanks for the great tip, i hope i am not too late to register
