If you are using Google Adsense network on your blog to generate some additional revenue as bonus for what you have contributed to the community. Google Adsense is still the #1 revenue sharing ad network with a lot of advertisements to serve and there are  millions bloggers and publishers have survived with this network. However, the earning is various from one to another and it depends so much on either your niche or your optimizations.

If you are ok with your selected niche but your adsense revenue is still slow, the only thing that can affect that (regardless of economic crisis as it is better and better) is the way you optimize your adsense ads on your blog. The position and the color of your ad unit somehow can increase or decrease your CTR. You can either use multiple color palettes or kill the PSA…to boost your adsense revenue. However, the way you apply sometimes is not recommended by Google, so, you should follow what Google suggests to get your account in good stand or more than that.

There is a feature that has been added to your adsense account in My Account tab that allows you to select the way you would like to communicate with Google Adsense Support Team in order to optimize your adsense display to generate more revenue for your blog.

As announced on the Google Adsense Blog today, you now can select what channels you would like to get emails on monthly basis. It depends on your interest but I strongly recommend you guys to select the Customized help and performance suggestions. This is so great as Google will guide us how to optimize our ad performance by emails.

Here is the list of 6 categories that you can select. You can only select 5 of 6 categories as the last one is compulsory that you can not deselect:

Good luck to you guys and happy earning!

Now or in the past. Now is quite low, even lower than affiliate commission but in the past from 2007 back, I made about 10k/month from all blogs. Some are at high rank :$$$:

Good tips assuming you have the traffic. That’s the biggest tip of all, because that will determine if you make anything.

If you have 100 readers, the how what when where won’t make a bit of difference. ;)

Well, you are right! Traffic is the #1 factor that can make a difference but the source of traffis is rather important. I means quality vs quantity.

I have the same opinion as you. I received some Adsense’s email and see that they are too general, nothing really helpful for my blog.

You are right! Google can not provide specific tips for each publisher, you can get some from webmasterworld forum or Google Adsense Help group or here :)

That is too bad and I think we need to consider what niche would be the most profitable one now!

We use adsense on some of our sites and we are always looking to get the biggest bang for our bucks. Here is another tip:

The three top performing ad units are: 336×280 large rectangle, 300×250 inline rectangle and 160×600 wide skyscraper. :)

Tran Tinh March 14, 2010 at 9:54 am

Yes, you are right! To some extents bigger is better but it depends on the way to optimize it too :$$$:

I think it totally depends on what type of site you have. Different ad sizes work for different niches.
