Yahoo! Publisher Network has been launched in closed Beta for a while and many bloggers hoped it could be a big competitor for Google Adsense or any other PPC advertising networks. However, everything was clear when it was officially announced to be closed on 30 April, 2010.
This decision as stated in its announcement only affects its self-service platform for small publishers who syndicate Yahoo’s Content Match (contextual) listings. However, this decision does not affect nor impact Yahoo’s relationship with large direct publishers and partners in any way.
We are almost small publishers then this decision really affects us. However, as YPNO is only open for US-based publishers then other countries seems to be out of the game. TechCrunch and many other bloggers have informed us about this but many of you did not believe as this news was just published the April Fool Day. But, it was true!
But, there is a good news that Yahoo! Publisher Network also recommend you to use Chitika Network which I have several times mentioned about andf you can easily see the logo on Chitika homepage as below:
I was quite surprised with this news and I thought that was an April Fool from Yahoo but unfortunately it was true and YPNO was really dead! Another wrong strategy from Yahoo.
Well, without YPNO, you can make money with Google Adsense, Chitika, AdBrite or Bidvertiser and you are not affected at all from this decision if you are not from US.
Good luck to you guys!

Am not from the US and thus it does not affects me in anyway, also i never thought yahoo was capable to run an ads network successfully… from what it looks like, yahoo is slowly closing up and would end up soon…
anyways, as rightly suggested by you, chitika is good, i have got paid by chitika in the past and the chitika premium service is pretty much a good alternative to adsense,
You are right, in terms of revenue of this blog, Chitika is much better than Adsense too. Thanks for dropping by and sharing your comments but as stated by Yahoo, it would only affect small publishers and they just launched another APT Ad Platform :yeah:
Ya bro, I had heard about this a few days ago. But this is of not much significance to me because YPN was not offered in our country. I think they were offered only in US and Canada. They were also offered in Europe but they rolled out last year. By the way, it is good that they are recommending Chitika as the option. Thank god, the users wont have to search on for a new advertising platform. By the way Yahoo has been slowly having a downslide, First we see closure of Geocities, then the news of closure of Mybloglog and now this, the closure of YPN. Hope so Yahoo gets back up soon :nooo:
that’s exactly right bro !! !! Yahoo has been having a ..downside..!!
Yes bro! Please check my email and reply if you are interested in :thanx:
And got Yahoo Search acquired by Microsoft ….and Yahoo is not Yahoo itself compared to what it has made several years ago. Hope it will not be closed soon :adida:
This mean Yahoo is still in their struggling to match with Google.
Yeah! That is a profitable marketplace and Yahoo is looking for another way to beat Google :$$$:
Well hot damn, Yahoo must be jinxed…
Yes, I think they have another strategy to compete with Google and hope they will be successful :yeah:
Unfortunately, i’m not an US resident. However, i have heard a lot of good things about the Yahoo Publisher Network. Maybe one day this program will be open to the world. Thanks for your review Tinh!
You are welcome. I really want Yahoo to be back sooner as realcompetitor with Google so we can maximize revenue with both :$$$:
I don’t know whats happening to Yahoo… they have lost too many in the past few years…..
Yes, maybe they have applied wrong strategy and not as smart as Google :smoking:
hmmm..still there is no competition of Adsense…
Whether they afraid of Fraud clicks excahange…he he :yeah:
