Kaspersky Treats Google Adsense as Trojan

300x250 animated Kaspersky Treats Google Adsense as Trojan

It seems to be shocking to many of you who are using Google Adsense to generate revenue on your blog. It come to me this morning when I read several blogs with Google adsense ads and got a warning message from Kaspersky Internet Security that there is a trojan!

I could not got this type of message when I had my McAfee installed on my laptop but it seems that Kaspersky treated Google Adsense seriously rather than any other anti-virus softwares. If you are using Kaspersky on your PC/laptop, please click on “Allow” button instead of “Block” button if you get this alert:

Virus detected Severity: Critical event Application: Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition Version number: 6.0.2.555 Task name: Real-time file protection Computer: DRxxxxxxx Group: xxxxxxx Time: 25 January 2010 09:26:00 Description: Threat detected: Trojware Trojan.JS.Redirector.ar. Object name: C:\Documents and Settings\xxxx\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\CGQQTE3H\show_ads[1].js

This message comes with the link to Google Adsense Ads sever at http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com. If you select block button, Google Adsense ads will automatically be disabled.

I think this issue will lead to a big lost of revenue for both Google and bloggers who are putting Google Ads on their blogs. All impression and clicks will not be recorded due to this bug.

This issues seems to be fixed now if you have updated your KAS/KIS database but my KIS still block Google Adsense ads now.

That’s weird. Wat company in their right mind would name any Google owned venture as a Trojan? Uh-oh. Kaspersky’s in deep trouble.

lol, haha, it will be good to see some serps/pr penalties for Kaspersky. I don’t use it anyway, good to keep away from these 3rd party tools as much as possible…

It is really weird. Getting a virus coming from Google but nevertheless it is great that things made clear regarding the virus. If ever it is true, it really affects those Google ads users through the web. :hands:

This is very worrisome. Kasperky I thought to be unhackable.

But, I suppose if the Pentagon can be hacked, and infiltrated with viruses, anyone or any program can be.

It’s a bit different, but the Chinese have introduced “spyware” just about everywhere in the US that is of interest to them. Even the Google programmers are no match to 100 Chinese software engineers working on a single hacking problem.

At least the Chinese aren’t looking to shut our computers down. They just want to know what our top labs and defense people are doing.

A virus is just destructive, and the product of sick minds.
